Most Recent Job - "Time to Shower"
This shower was actually unplanned, in that what led to it was a leak in the tiled shower base that was done by a different contractor about 5 years ago. Still, we did our best to make the process enjoyable for our client. She went with a white marble Carrara and Dolomite combination which we don't really recommend for heavy shower use but it does look beautiful.
Note: When using marble especially lighter marble like this the sealing process is critical. We use Restoration By Design Stone out of Natick, MA to assist and ensure all of our natural stone work is protected from the get go.
A lot of builders and remodelers are using rubber shower bases because it saves time on the install and doesn't back them up to wait for a copper pan to be built for them specific to the exact shower size. We choose to still use copper unless the customer requests otherwise because it's virtually leakproof this way.
